Professional Development for the Child Care Workforce
Change is in the air as Child Care Seminars changes its mission and purpose. Here's what you can expect over the next year:
1. Child care providers may continue to take classes from CCS. New courses will be
added throughout the year; look for a 30-hour series for School-Age Care
providers to begin Summer 2010! Resources will continue to be added to help
you, such as the curriculum file folders. Look for new folder series on
1) infant/toddlers and 2) school age care to be added in Summer 2010!
2. Beginning October 1, 2010, Child Care Seminars will be offering courses for
child care trainers. Emphasis will be placed on teaching principles of adult
education and adult learning theory.
3. Child Care Seminars will function as a clearinghouse for child care providers and
parent/family life educators to find online training that meets their needs. Come
here to discover what online resources are available to you and how to locate
them! These resources will be posted as they are discovered, so check this
website often! Correspondence and face-to-face training opportunities will also
4. If you are a trainer or agency offering child care training, please consider posting
your course list or training schedule at Child Care Seminars at no cost!
Thank you for your patience during this time of transition. I am excited about the changes and hope you will be, too! Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.
