I've been so excited about this project that I can't wait to share it with you!

Because I love children so much, and I want to support child care providers in the wonderful work you are doing, I am putting together "unit theme folders" that you can download from this site for FREE and use them in teaching the kids in your child care programs!  Yes, FREE!  There are 2 pages in each file.  You can see the example to know what the finished product can look like, but use your own imagination and have fun with these!

Imagine!  You can create 52 theme units, laminate them in folders like the one shown below, and you'll have an entire year's worth of curriculum FREE!!!  You can re-use these folders year after year.  I've shared them in several of my face-to-face classes and the providers have all fallen in love with them!

So, I'm creating 52 theme units that you can download from this site for FREE to make your own set of folders!  All you need is a glue stick, a little imagination, and some place to have them laminated.  I like using School Days here in Midland. If you don't have a source for laminating nearby, clear contact paper works just fine, or you can just print the unit plans and put them in sheet protectors in a binder (a much cheaper option).

If you have ideas you would like to submit, feel free to send them in.  I'd love to include them in file folders for everyone to use.  I will add new folders as they are created, so check back regularly.

I've left some blank spaces in the folder sections so you can add your own artwork or stickers before getting the folders laminated.

Also, you will notice that I haven't included songs and fingerplays in the downloadable folders.  Here's why.  I have a set of index cards that have one ring in the upper left hand corner... and a number in the right hand corner.  All my fingerplays are on these cards.  I haven't put them on the downloadable sheets because of copyright issues, but you can create your own set of cards with the fingerplays and songs you find on the internet.  For example, you can Google "Thanksgiving fingerplays" and get a list of websites that have fabulous fingerplays, songs, and action rhymes that you can use.

To get your FREE unit plans for making your set of folders, just click on the theme topic below.  They have all been saved as .pdf files.  Once you print out the pages, glue them into file folders, and decorate to your own liking.  Get them laminated and you're ready to use them with the children!  (I like decorating them really pretty because the children love to look at them so much!  You can sit on the floor at circle time with the folder right in front of you!)
